Research Group Programming Languages and Compilers
Prof. Dr. Uwe Kastens
The research interest of this group centers around the design, the compilation, and the application of programming languages and domain-specific languages.
Programming languages are central tools for the development of computer software. As general-purpose languages they are used to solve scientific problems. They are applied in business applications as well as in system programming. Application specific languages in contrast provide expressive power which is especially adapted to their application domain.
Main Research Areas
- Generating optimizing compilers and efficient simulators from processor specifications, projects GigaNetIC, PlaNetS and EASY-C
- Modeling and evaluation of fine-grained parallel processor architectures, MxMobile
- Next Generation Java Card (Software Quality Lab s-lab)
