Prof. Dr. Eckhard Steffen appointed to DOC-CAREERS II project steering committee of the European University Association (EUA)

Recently, Eckhard Steffen, managing director of PACE, was appointed to the EUA project DOC-CAREERS II. This project will study how universities work with their regional partners in doctoral education across Europe. The European University Association (EUA) is the main voice of the higher education community in Europe. It has more than 800 individual University members in 46 countries across Europe, and 34 National Rectors’ Conferences Members.
The DOC-CAREERS II project aims to identify good practices as well as new models concerning:

  • University-industry collaboration, especially with regional small to medium enterprises
  • Structure of university-industry doctoral schemes
  • Employability and mobility of doctorate holders
  • Good practices in the tracking of doctorate holders

The EUA plays an essential role in shaping tomorrow’s European higher education and research landscape thanks to its unique knowledge of the sector and the diversity of its members. The Association’s mandate in the Bologna process, contribution to EU research policy-making and relations with intergovernmental organizations, European institutions and international associations, ensure its capacity to debate issues which are crucial for universities in relation to higher education, research and innovation.
